I run, therefore I AM. I run for euphoria. I run to set good healthy examples. I run because it keeps me sane. More than ever and most importantly, I RUN 2LIVE literally. Although I lived what is considered a healthy lifestyle, I was diagnosed with TYPE II diabetes about 14 years ago weighing 115 lbs. Through proper nutrition and active lifestyle, I am able to manage and control this silent killer. It takes everyday to fight this disease.
I started running seriously when I decided to raise money for the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to honor my father who lost the battle to Diabetes . I ran the NYC Half Marathon last year and have not stopped since. Every time I run, every race, is a race for my father. It’s him and I on the course as I feel his support. Which is the best reason to keep on running.
